EXEC. ASSISTANT TO THE TREASURER/CFO

Carolyn J. Joy serves as the Executive Assistant to the Treasurer/CFO within the African Methodist Episcopal Church Finance Department. As Executive Assistant Carolyn oversees managing Treasurer/CFO daily calendar for all appointments and calls affiliated with AMEC within the Finance Department. She manages communication with the Bishops, General  Officers, and stakeholders’ day-to-day operations within the department and other administrative functions.

Carolyn has an extensive background and formerly worked as an administrator for: Administration Office of The Courts, National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) and Fisk University Office of the President. Her last position was with Fisk University where she worked closely with four Presidents.

Born and raised in Bolivar, TN a rural town in West TN, she is the seventh child from a large family of thirteen. She received a bachelor’s degree in Medical Records Administration from Tennessee State University in 1988. She is a 25 year member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Nashville. She also has a daughter and two grandsons and spends her weekends coaching her grandson’s basketball, soccer and football teams.
